Pundamilia nyerereiis a species of Haplochromine from Lake Victoria and the surrounding waters. Males have a red upper half and yellow-green lower half, covered with black bars throughout. Females are mostly gray with some yellow in the fins. It is best to keepPundamilia nyerereimales with other male cichlids (Peacocks, Haplochromines, or mbuna), or in a harem setup with several females. Caves should be provided for fish to seek refuge in when threatened by dominant males. Females will hold mouthbrood spawns of 10-50 eggs.
Hi Douglas, glad you like the fish! Sometimes a bit of bossiness is just part of their personality. Thanks for your review!

This fish was a surprise for me. I ordered off the picture thinking, "He looks like he might be different". Once I got him, he is now one of my favorite fish. Pictures do not do him justice, he is gorgeous! Highly recommend.
Fish was dead on arrival. Sent an email requesting another, but have not gotten a reply. Will change my review when a receive another green texas cichlid.
