The Black diamond stingray is known only from the Rio Xingu and Rio Fresco, where it is found in shallow, slow-moving tributaries over sandy or muddy substrates. This stunningly beautiful bottom-dweller grows very large, and requires a voluminous aquarium with powerful filtration to match.
