Heterotilapia buettikoferi, or Zebra Tilapia, is a large, deep-bodied West African cichlid known for its striking black-and-white stripes, which fade with age, and can grow over a foot long in large tanks, preferring warm, rocky environments and an omnivorous diet, though they can become aggressive in cramped conditions. 

Geographic Range: West Africa, primarily found in rivers and lakes.
Diet: Omnivorous; feeds on plant matter, algae, and small invertebrates.

Preferred Water Parameters: pH 6.5-7.5, Temperature 75-80°F
Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallons
Acceptable Tank Mates: Other large, moderately aggressive cichlids. Provide plenty of space and hiding spots.
