Tropheus moorii "Cherry-Spot" (Bulu Point)

The Tropheus moorii "Cherry-Spot" (also called "Bulu Point") is a striking, algae-eating cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, characterized by large, vibrant cherry-red patches on a black body, though juveniles and stressed adults are darker. These hardy but territorial herbivores require a diet rich in spirulina/veggies (no protein!), hard alkaline water (pH 7.8-8.6), and large groups (10-12+) in big tanks to diffuse aggression and allow for established hierarchies, rewarding patience with stunning displays.
