Spotcheek Cichlid (Thorichthys ellioti or T. maculipinnis)

The Spotcheek Cichlid (Thorichthys ellioti or T. maculipinnis) is a vibrant, semi-aggressive Central American freshwater fish known for iridescent blue spots, metallic sheen, golden body, and a signature reddish-orange patch on its throat and cheeks, resembling a firemouth cichlid but generally more peaceful and colorful. They grow to about 5-6 inches, prefer soft substrate for sifting, enjoy driftwood and plants, and are excellent, dedicated parents when breeding in community or semi-aggressive tanks.
