Panda Uaru (Uaru fernandezyepezi)

Panda Uaru

The Panda Uaru is a highly coveted and rare South American Cichlid known for its distinct appearance. Its name stems from the striking black and white pattern exhibited by adult fish. These unique fish originate from the blackwater habitat of the upper Atabapo region in Colombia and Venezuela. To ensure their optimal well-being, it is recommended to create an aquarium environment that closely mimics their native habitat. This entails maintaining low pH levels, soft water, and warm temperatures.

Much like wild Discus or Angelfish, the Panda Uaru thrives when kept in groups of five or more. This group dynamic helps create a natural social structure and enhances their overall behavior and well-being. By providing a suitable environment and suitable tankmates, enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty and charm of these captivating fish.
