Julidochromis marlieri

Julidochromis marlieri, or Marlier's Julie, is a striking Lake Tanganyika cichlid known for its elongated body and bold, maze-like pattern of dark spots and stripes on a creamy white or yellowish base, thriving in rocky aquascapes with caves for shelter, preferring hard, alkaline water (pH 7.8-9.0, temp 74-80°F), and best kept in monogamous pairs or single-species tanks due to their territorial but intelligent nature, eating a carnivorous diet of high-protein foods like brine shrimp and pellets.
