Cryptocoryne beckettii is a hardy and versatile aquarium plant, well-loved for its attractive green to brown foliage and ability to adapt to a wide range of conditions. It does well in both low and moderate lighting, making it a great choice for aquascapers of all experience levels. This slow-growing plant is ideal for the foreground or midground of an aquascape, where it adds natural texture and contrast. Like other Cryptocoryne, it may go through a short adjustment period when first introduced, but once established it becomes a reliable and easy-to-maintain addition to your tank.
Sold As: Individual rooted plants
Placement: Foreground to midground
Lighting: Low to medium
Growth Rate: Slow
Difficulty: Easy, beginner-friendly
Color: Green to brown foliage with wavy leaves
Special Notes: May “melt” when first introduced but will regrow and stabilize
Care Tips:
Cryptocoryne beckettii does best in stable water conditions with a temperature range of 72–82°F and a pH between 6.0–7.5. While it tolerates low light, moderate lighting helps bring out richer coloration. Root tabs or nutrient-rich substrate are recommended to support healthy growth. Trim older leaves occasionally to encourage new growth and maintain a tidy appearance in the aquascape.
