Appearance
- Color:A base of dark chocolate brown, with mocha tones blended in.
- Stripes:The defining feature is the "misbar" pattern, meaning the white stripes are incomplete, broken, or even missing entirely. Some specimens might have only a head bar or a tail dot.
- Outlines:The stripes and fins can have an irregular black outline.
- Uniqueness:Each Chocolate Misbar clownfish has unique and varied markings.
Care & Environment
- Diet:As omnivores, they will eat a variety of marine fish foods, including pellets, flakes, and frozen options like Mysis and brine shrimp.
- Temperament:Generally peaceful and reef-safe, making them good additions to community tanks.
- Water Parameters:They need stable conditions, with typical water parameters for a marine environment: approximately 78° F, dKH 8-12, pH 8.1-8.4, and a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025.
- Tank Life:They are captive-bred, which makes them hardier and better adapted to home aquariums. They can form a symbiotic relationship with an anemone, such as a Bubble Tip anemone.
Breeding & Origin
- Designer Morphs:This is not a naturally occurring variety but a man-made variation that arose from selectively breeding Ocellaris clownfish.
- Captive-Bred:The entire "misbar" trait is a result of selective breeding in captivity, which has benefits such as increased hardiness and disease resistance compared to wild-caught fish.
