Apistogramma viejita - Fish

The Apistogramma viejita, or Viejita Dwarf Cichlid, is a small, colorful South American fish known for its vibrant hues (especially red/gold in males), inquisitive nature, and suitability for community tanks when kept in groups with ample hiding spots. They are cave-spawners that prefer soft, acidic water, require a sandy substrate for sifting, and are best kept in pairs or harems (1 male: multiple females) in planted tanks with peaceful tank mates like tetras.
